FYI Terms & Conditions Key Updates

We’ve made changes to our Terms and Conditions to provide greater clarity and transparency. These changes are effective immediately for new customers and effective from 1 July 2025 for existing users. 

The main changes we’ve made include:

  • Combined Terms, Privacy Policy and License Agreement: We’ve combined our Terms, Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement to further simplify and provide greater clarity. 
  • Intellectual Property: We’ve provided greater clarity that you retain all intellectual property rights to your data and FYI is not given any rights to your data other than the limited rights necessary for the provision of the service. 
  • Your Data and Conduct: We’ve updated our terms to clarify that you retain full ownership of the data you place on our platform. 
  • Your Data and Storage: We’ve updated our terms to better reflect our operations, such as only storing data in Australia or the UK (for European users).  

Other changes we’ve made include: 

  • Updates to Terms: We’ve updated the way in which we notify you of changes to our terms and conditions. This includes providing you with notice of material changes.   
  • License: We’ve updated the license granted to you, which renews monthly automatically until the account is terminated in accordance with our Terms.  
  • Your Use of the Content: We’ve provided greater clarity of how you can use content, such as providing you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-assignable, and non-exclusive license.  
  • Data Security: We’ve updated our terms for greater clarity and to better reflect our current operations, such as our endeavor to protect personal information from unauthorised interference, including access or disclosure and ensuring the use of encryption and security measures are implemented to safeguard your data. 
  • Your Account With Our Service: We’ve provided greater clarity in regard to FYI relying on the details of your account as you have provided and our expectations of your use of our services. 
  • Use of Service: We’ve provided greater clarity regarding links to third party sites from our website and products which are not owned or controlled by us. 
  • Termination: We’ve provided greater clarity on termination of an account with additional notice and further protections provided. 
  • Other updates: We’ve made other minor changes to our terms and the agreements incorporated by reference into the terms, to better reflect our operations and provide greater clarity. 

We encourage you to read the updated  Terms and Conditions in full on our website. This replaces our preexisting Terms, Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement.
